TU Delft started the Delft Urban Water research center in collaboration with UNESCO-IHE and sister institutes Deltares and KWR for stimulating long-term academic research in the field of urban water. Delft Urban Water research center brings together knowledge about urban water. By combining expertise they aim to tackle future problems of increasing urbanisation, flooding and a worldwide shortage of good quality water. The foundation was announced during the 63rd Delft Vacation Course, the annual networking symposium of the Dutch water world.
